Oceania, Polynesia, Samoan Islands, ca. mid-20th century CE. An impressive carved-wood spear club with a diamond-shaped blade, barbed shoulders, and notched and openwork details. The incised designs have been highlighted in a white lime pigment, and this was likely intended for ceremonial use or dance. Size: 39.5" L x 3.5" W (100.3 cm x 8.9 cm); 41.5" H (105.4 cm) on included custom stand.
