Welstead, of four hundred guineas. June 11, 1805. The two-handled trophy with urn-form body encircled on the upper rim by a band of scrolling grapevines, with cast plaques centered on each side, one with the East India Company coat of arms and motto, the opposite with putto in lion-pulled cart, raised on a stepped circular foot with border of berried laurel branch, and two reeded handles terminating in acanthus leaves, the stepped cover with acorn finial and two coat of arms engraved in cartouches. In overall good condition. Slight lean to body overall. Slight lifting to rim of cover; does not sit flush to trophy. Minor rubbing to gilding and fine surface wear throughout as expected with age and handling.
