DIAL / HANDS: Original Silvered with Roman Numerals Kiln Fired Enamel Numbers by Stern Freres / Blued Steel Hands
WARRANTY: 18 months on the movement.
This is one of most interesting Nardin pocket watches I have ever seen. The silver case finished with a Niello background is in excellent original condition with little wear on it and the hinges are strong. The impressive sterling silver dial has Roman Numerals which have been carved out of the dial plate and filled with kiln fired enamel, at 1500 degrees Fahrenheit. This dial was produced for Nardin by Stern Freres. Stern was the most famous dial house in Switzerland and produced all the dials for Patek Philippe. In the early 1930s Stern purchased Patek Philippe out of bankruptcy and today Stern still owns the Patek Philippe Watch Company.
Remarkably, this watch also comes with what appears to be the original matching chain and locket fob. Done in the workmanship as the watch is must have left the factory at the same time as the the finish and craft appear the same. We have never seen a finer example of a watch, with its box and papers and chain.
You will never see such a finer example of a Nardin again with the box, papers and original receipt and matching chain.
