Beautiful oil on canvas painting 20 x 27½ inches, rendered in the style of Alma Thomas (22 Sep 1891 - 24 Feb 1978) was the first Black woman to have a show at the Whitney Museum of American Art. She was also the first Black woman to have work acquired by the White House. Her life was distinctive in other ways, too. Provenance: Private Collection. This painting is framed.
