Description
Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Colima or Nayarit, ca. 300 BCE to 300 CE. A fascinating effigy vessel of a dog supporting a hollow globular bowl with holes for use as an incense burner, with a pair of serpents framing the sides. The jaguar also functioned as a whistle; note the mouth hole on the snout, vent on the chin, and tone holes to the sides! Size: 4.75" L x 3.75" W x 6.25" H (12.1 cm x 9.5 cm x 15.9 cm)
