Description

This sculpture is based on Guido Reni's painting in Santa Maria dellaConcezione, Rome, of the Archangel Michael battling the devil. During the great war in Heaven that was incited by the fallen angel Lucifer, Michael-commander of God's army overthrows his enemy. This is a brown patina, with careful attention to detail from his armor, the clouds they tussle on, to the devil's head that he stands on. This bronze sculpture was cast using the Lost Wax Method and mounted on a marble base. Dimensions: Height 15 X Width 13 inches. Weight: 19 LBS.
