A LARGE FAMILLE VERTE 'XIWANGMU' JARDINIERE
19th century
The deeply rounded sides with a wide lipped rim, finely painted with a continuous scene of Xi Wangmu, The Queen Mother of the West, descending in a swirl of clouds with four attendants and a deer, holding three peaches down to a series of officials and dignitaries, beside Shoulao and Magu in a rocky, pine-filled landscape, all below a band of ruyi lappets decorated with flowers, and above a narrow band of alternating green and red lappets.
