Description
A FLAMBÉ-GLAZED VASE, MEIPING
18th/19th century
The waisted body rising to broad shoulders, surmounted by a splayed lobed neck with a lipped rim, the shoulders flanked by a pair of lion head and fixed ring handles, covered overall with a thick crimson glaze with purplish-blue streaks thinning in places to a mushroom brown, the base with a light brown glaze, carved wood stand.
30cm (12in) high (2).

Condition
This vase is in good condition with the exception of chipping to the unglazed portion of the foot rim with the overflow glaze ground down over the foot as is normal for such a piece. Some chipping to the foot has been filled although this is partially obscured by glued baize. There are some minor firing imperfections namely burst bubbles to the glaze. There is a light crackle to the glaze overall, and slight scratches to the surface.
