Description
BROWN, CLAUDE
Manchild in the Promised Land. New York: The Macmillan Company, (1965). First edition, first printing (later printings are indicated on the copyright page) signed and inscribed on the front paste-down: “To Johanne, a great girl and a beautiful person. With best wishes for the coming [sic] events. Claude Brown.” Dust jacket slightly darkened and with light chipping to extremities, minor shelfwear to cloth, but a rather nice copy of a distinctly scarce book, quite rare inscribed.
Claude Browne's autobiographical novel of growing up in Harlem is a classic coming-of-age story set in Harlem.
