When We Were Very Young. London: Methuen, (1924). First edition, this copy signed on the title in black ink by Milne, and with a charming autograph letter signed by Shepard laid-in. Publisher's blue cloth, top edge gilt, housed in a morocco-backed slipcase and chemise. 7 1/4 x 4 3/4 inches (18.75 x 12 cm); xii, 100 pp., illustrated throughout by E. H. Shepard. Minimal wear, no jacket, but a pretty copy of the trade issue.
