Description
The lithography escutcheon for George Vogel of Company B of the 20th Regiment of the Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry documents his battles and eventual wounding at Antietam after which he was held as a prisoner of war at Libbey Prison in Virginia. An original albumen photo of Vogel is mounted on the lower banner. This piece is displayed in an American walnut frame circa 1875.
Measures 25 x 20 inches.
