The illustrator Zeev Raban (1890-1970), born as Wolf Rawicki in Lodz, studied in Munich, Brussels and Paris. In 1912 moved to Jerusalem to the Bezalel Academy. Raban was a leading painter, decorative artist, and industrial designer of the Bezalel school style, and was one of the founders of the Israeli art world.
