Native American, Southwestern United States, New Mexico, Santa Clara Pueblo, ca. mid to late 20th century CE. A collection of 3 blackware vessels that have a highly burnished finish and either deeply carved or painted with matte decorations. The mid-sized pot with deep vertical ribs is by Corn Moquino (1929-2016) and signed on the base with a cornstalk symbol. The largest is signed on the base by contemporary artist Tricia Velarde and marked "Santa Clara." The miniature pot is unsigned, and the matte motifs are a slip painted on rather than carved. Size of largest: 4" Diameter x 4" H (10.2 cm x 10.2 cm); smallest: 2" Diameter x 2" H (5.1 cm x 5.1 cm)
