Description

Doctor of Medicine from the Faculty of Montpellier in 1841. He went to Paris, but failed the agrégation in medicine and taught in Montpellier. In 1853, he failed the agrégation in medicine a second time, but passed the agrégation in pharmacy. He left teaching to devote himself to popularising science. He worked as a scientific journalist for several journals.
