These drawings represent women reclining on backgrounds decorated with fabrics adorned with arabesques and are miracles of pure lines that best enclose the sphere of female sensuality.
In the reflections and mirrors, Matisse seems to want to imprint the soul of his models in the finest and most virtuous lines."
