Antique c1880 Victorian black wool jacket features amazing hand applied soutache/Russian braid embroidery throughout the entire piece in a mix of freeform wavy lines, swirls, lattice and leafy vine motifs on a black woven wool. As well as an exaggerated pointed collar, puffed sleeves, and toggle front closures. The jacket is lined in a black and white striped silk. Laying flat the jacket measures: shoulders 12.5'', bust 16'', sleeves 25'', waist 14''. The jacket is in fair condition with wear/losses to the soutache embroidery at the collar and back sleeves (near the elbow), and the striped silk lining is in poor condition and is starting to shred at the upper back and waistline. As well as 1 missing toggle front closure.
