Description

Offered in this lot is a wonderful vintage needlepoint cluster turquoise bolo tie by Francis M. Begay. This slide has a central cluster of needlepoint turquoise cabochons resting in handmade sawtooth bezels accented with twisted wire. The central settings are surrounded by silver loops, silver dots, and another row of twisted wire. The edge is finished with more turquoise needlepoint cabochons accented with silver dots, and the settings are all displayed on a darkened silver background. The large eye catching slide is on a black braided cord with stamped silver tips that are finished off with turquoise dangles that match the center of the slide. This bolo tie will make quite a statement when worn on your favorite outfit, and could easily be converted to a pendant and earrings for your special lady! Add it to your collection by bidding today!.
MAKER: Hallmarked F.M.B. (stamped). Francis M. Begay (Navajo).
APPROX AGE: Vintage (meaning somewhere between the 1930s to 1970s).
SIZE: The leather cord measures 36 inches overall including the tips. The slide measures 3 3/8 inches long by 3 inches wide, and the tips/ measure 2 1/8inches long. The dangles measure 1 1/4 inches wide at the widest point x 1 7/8 inches from top to bottom. The total weight for this item is 85.7 grams (with most of the cord off the scale).
