Available here for your consideration are a Spanish leather bridle and handmade bit. This bridle is highlighted with nice leather work including finely etched embellishments and a leather fly veil across the brow band. This brow band is attached to the cheek piece by a gold colored button adding nice detail to the overall look. The bit is impressively made by hand and features a nice pattern along the cheek. The leather reins are attached to the bit via ten inch rein chains. The history of bits and spurs in North America begins with the Spanish who first came to the new world in the 1500s, bringing horses and livestock with them. The Spanish colonial style is the predecessor of the Californian and Mexican styles we know today. This would be the perfect addition for your collection so bid now!

MAKER: The leather bridle is marked VDA BERNABEU CORDOBA - B SEVILLA. The bit is marked JIMENE.
APPROX AGE: Vintage (meaning somewhere between the 1930s to 1970s).
SIZE: The bit measures 5 inches at the mouth piece and 6 1/8 inches overall. The bridle fits a standard horse.
CONDITION: Fairly good for their age, normal wear and minor imperfections expected. Please look closely at the pictures as they are an important part of our description and are hereby incorporated into the description, specifically with regards to condition.
