Item Details
Description
Offered here for your consideration is a selection of sketches by Victor Clyde Forsythe, along with documents used in preparing the sketches. Welcome to a view behind the scenes used in the creation of art. Many of these should be framed and displayed in our opinion. In an 8/16/2013 article on History Net, David D. DeHaas said of Forsythe's Gunfight at the OK Corral that "it may be the nearest thing we have to an actual photo of the event". This lot reveals the work that Forsythe went to, so that he could paint the shootout accurately. There is an old photo of the scene from which he worked, and a proof identifying the players in the event. In addition, there are other very finely rendered sketches demonstrating why Forsythe's reputation is so sterling. Bid now to own this insight into the artistic process and acquire some very nice sketches for your decor!
