Available here for your consideration is a very fine Navajo Weaving by Roseann Teller Lee. Roseann and her sister Barbara Jean Teller Ornelas are known for having worked together to create a large Two Grey Hills textile that won the Best of Show at the Sante Fe Indian Market the year of 1987. This weaving set a record price for contemporary Navajo weaving and led the sisters to be recognized in magazines like the New Mexicon Magazine and shows like the Craft in America show on the PBS channel. The textile featured here is an amazingly fine weaving by Roseann. Done in black, grey and brown on a natural background, this weaving features traditional Two Grey Hills designs. Provenance - from the Blair family estate who owned the Red Mesa and Kayenta Trading Posts on the Navajo reservation dating back to the first half of the 1900s.
MAKER: There is a tag with the textile that reads KAYENTA TRADING POST and has ROSEANN TELLER 1971 written on it.
APPROX AGE: Vintage (early 1970s).
SIZE: This rug measures approximately 19 1/2 inches wide x 28 inches long.
