17th/18th c Italian Baroque Refectory Table, crafted from walnut and mixed woods, featuring a plank top and raised on stretchered, lyre-shaped legs. Dating from the late 17th early 18th century with later additions, this piece is a representation of the Continental Baroque style, Measures approximately 31" x 66 1/2" x 39 3/4". With wormholes, top splits, and replaced rails and stretcher. This item originates from the estate of John A. Williams, a distinguished philanthropist and renowned collector. Mr. Williams and his partner Dewitt Hart were influential members of San Francisco's art society and were celebrated for their discerning taste in modern, ethnographic, and fine art. Over the years, they hosted numerous exhibitions in their home, showcasing their prestigious collection to appreciative audiences. All proceeds of items from this estate benefit the Hart Williams Rainbow Fund, a nonprofit working with the LGBTQIA+ community in the San Francisco Bay Area.
