FRENCH / GERMAN PORCELAIN CABINET PLATES, LOT OF TWO, each with gilt foliate border decoration, comprising a polychrome hand-painted example titled "Meditation" featuring a sitting woman wearing a head covering and a fur-cuffed coat with hands clasped under her chin, signed Issanchou to lower left, having a gilt-painted foot ring, and one example depicting Queen Louise of Prussia wearing a headband with a center star. Marks to underside include gilt-printed crown with "ROYAL VIENNA", a slightly askew beehive/shield mark, and green-printed "MIGNON / Z.S. & Co / BAVARIA", "CA / FRANCE", and "RAPHAEL WEILL & Co / SAN FRANCISCO". Zeh, Scherzer & Co., Bavaria, Germany; Charles Ahrenfeldt, Montjovis, France. Late 19th/early 20th century. 9 5/8" D.
