FEUILLET ATTRIBUTED PORCELAIN AND DESPREZ ALEXANDER I SULPHIDE CABINET CUP AND SAUCER, cup having an overall gilt surface and interior, large central reserve featuring a military rider with a long spear riding a horse in a winter scene and moving towards a small castle, acid-etched frame and upper band of drapery decoration, fitted with a signed "DESPREZ" sulphide of Alexander the 1st of Russia to the base. France. First quarter 19th century. Cup: 5 3/8" HOA, 4 3/4" D rim. Saucer: 1 1/4" H, 6 1/4" D.
