Description
CAPTION PRINTED BELOW PICTURE: [Oxford Gardens Conservation Area - North Kensington - St Quintin Estate - Ladbroke Grove]
DATE PRINTED: Circa 1925. The publication date is uncertain. The map is based on the 1916 edition of the Ordnance Survey map, however this was reprinted until at least 1938. We can find references to the lithographers and surveyors having been located at their addresses printed on the map between 1913 and 1937. The Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries (referred to on the map) held that name between 1919 and 1955. The coloured areas correspond to the original part of the St Quintin Estate. We surmise that the map may have prepared for a possible sale of the freehold of part of the St Quintin Estate, although we can find no reference to such a sale having taken place in the early 20th century.
IMAGE SIZE: Approx 75.5 x 96.0cm, 29.75 x 37.75 inches (Large); Please note that this is a folding map.
