Description: Printed map, drawn and engraved by Sunset Engraving. 50x81 cm (19¾x31¾") plus margins, folded.Map of the United States concentrating on the highways and connecting roads aiming toward San Diego, with inset photos and note about San Diego at top. The national highways shown include Broadway of America, Old Spanish Trail, Dixie Overland, Lee Highway, Pacific Highway and Bankhead Highway. On the back are 22 strip maps of the route from El Paso, Texas, to San Diego, going through Phoenix, Tombstone, Bisbee, Casa Grande, Yuma, Douglas, El Centro, Los Angeles, etc. A note testifies that "Maps prepared by the National Highway Committee and published by the San Diego-California Club of the San Diego Chamber of Commerce for free distribution to the motoring public." OCLC locates two copies, at the Arizona Historical Society and the University of California San Diego.
