Description: Black cloth, spine lettered in silver. Signed on the half-title page by Armstrong, Aldrin and Collins, the three astronauts of the Apollo 11 mission, the first two of whom were the first men to land on the moon. With a presentation inscription by Neil Armstrong, the first man to walk on the moon, "With the very best wishes to Capt. Thomas Foxworth." Armstrong has added "Apollo 11" after his signature. Armstrong inscriptions and signatures are very scarce, as later in his life he stopped signing items for the general public. Thomas Foxworth, the recipient of the inscription, was a Navy aviator in the early 1960s and later a pilot for Pan Am and United, retiring as senior captain of United's 767 fleet. He died of cancer in 1994, and the book has descended through the family since them.
