CAPPIELLO, Leonetto (1875 – 1942). Pur Champagne. 1902. Paris: Vercasson. An iconic early example of Cappiello’s work advertising a French champagne. Linen backed. 54 ¾ x 39 ¾”. Wrinkling and rippling to lower corners; slight creases; red and green toned. B. Accompanied by an ornate gilt frame with silk mat (removed from frame). Cappiello/Rennert, 32.

Sold to Benefit the Adoption Center of Illinois and Ox-Bow School of Art and Artists’ Residency.
