Description
United States Navy issued Legitimus machete, 20 in. blade and 25 in. overall. The dark wood grip is slightly loose due to the missing top screw. The blade is heavily oxidized though the maker mark ‘Legitimus Collins & Co. 1944’ and ‘U.S.N.’ marking is still clearly visible. Housed within original green canvas sheath, stamped ‘U.S.N. HOTZE 1944’. The sheath bears metal hooks at the top for belt attachment. Displays two large tears on one side and some staining throughout. This machete and its sheath show obvious signs of wear, clearly well-used.
