Very nice collection of seventy original World War II photographs, none larger than 4 x 3 in. b/w, pulled from a U.S. Army G.I.’s collection. Images include: 1945 victory parade in Paris with marching soldiers, tanks, flags of the victorious Allies, and a procession of German prisoners; destroyed city blocks; overturned vehicles; artillery; funeral services; several shots of army soldiers in solitary poses, candid shots on leave, group photos, working on jeeps, etc.; and closeups of stunning architecture, landscapes, and statues, nearly all in France. Very good to fine condition, with some bearing handwritten notes on the verso.
