Description
ERNST UDET (1896 - 1941) German aviator and combat flyer. Flying a Fokker D.III, he scored his first victory on 18 March 1916 in a lone attack against 22 French aircraft, later racking up 61 more victories. Udet was the highest scoring German ace to survive World War I. His bold pencil signature on the back cover of a program printed for a celebration of the Aero-Club von Deutschland on Oct. 29, 1937, and presented within a folder bound with string. Signing beneath is ERHARD MILCH (1892 - 1972) Co-creator with Goering of the Nazi's Luftwaffe, promoted to the rank of field marshal, later tried at Nuremberg and imprisoned until 1954. Small stain to cover, very slight foxing, otherwise very good.
