Description
A large and beautiful Herend Hungary, artist signed, teapot in the VBSO "Vieu Bouquet Saxe" (Old Saxony Bouquet) pattern. This pattern is of hand painted flowers with 24 K gold trim on a white porcelain ground and rose finial. Made in 1976 (150 year anniversary of Herend), in the popular Osier (wicker weave) pattern and hand painted by the artist Ms. Neogradi Istvanne. The Osier weave on this example encircles the top of the teapot and lid, it is fully marked on the bottom with the "150 Year Anniversary" stamp, the artist's signature (indicating a special made piece) and "VBSO 601, & 37-B". The 601-size teapot is the largest made by Herend and company literature indicates it is suitable for large tea parties and family gatherings, deminsions: 6 in. T x 11 in. W from spout tip to handle end x 6 1/2 in. diameter girth around middle. Excellent condition.
