Description
A lovely and large, clear glazed porcelain Coffee or Chocolate pot in a curved ribbed body design ascending upward to a fluted and scalloped top, with gold handle and flower finial, 9 ½ in. tall, marked with the A. Lantermier Company’s ”Limoges, Anchor and Depose” hallmark on bottom. This hallmark was used between 1890 and 1914. Excellent Condition.The Francois Frederic Lantemeir Company was established as a luxury porcelain workshop in 1857. In a partnership with Breuil he took over the Chabrol factory and started producing hand decorated porcelain goods. Alfred Lantermier, Francois’s son, who had worked for Wedgewood in England joined the firm in 1890 and it was renamed A.Lantemier & Co. In 1925 the company received the Grand Prix at the International Exhibiton of Moder Decorative and Industrial Arts (Exposition International des arts decoratifs et industriels modernes). The company also produced porcelain for Pomone (Le Bon Marche Department Store) and La Mestrado – the design studio of the famous Galeries Lafayettee in Paris.
