Ball Watch Co., Cleveland, Ohio, a Hamilton 999A "Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen" pocket watch, 18 size, 21 jewels, stem wind and lever set, adjusted to 5 positions and temperature, sunburst damascened nickel plate movement with lever escapement, cut bimetallic balance with gold screws, gold jewel settings, and micrometric regulator in a gold filled, screw back and bezel open face case with engraved B of RT cipher on back, arabic numeral, single sunk white enamel dial with plum colored steel spade hands, serial #118688
Condition
CASE: Band with pockmarked flat spot; Dings; Very fine scratches on outer surface of case; Bezel with minor brassing; Crown with wear. DIAL: Fine scratches; Small chip and hairline at setting lever. HANDS: Minor losses to color; Seconds with minor oxide. MOVEMENT PLATES: Scratches on plate; Significant scratches and dings on balance cock; Regulator assembly with specks of oxide; One barrel bridge screw replaced. MOVEMENT FUNCTION: Running order (winds, sets and ticks), circa 1900
