A French gilt brass carriage clock, early 20th century, with subsidiary alarm dial, having a push repeat and lever platform escapement striking on one gong, movement marked 'MADE IN FRANCE', numbered '1769', housed in carrying case with glass slide door, 5.5"h (excluding handle). Provenance: Estate of Meri Jaye, a renowned maritime collector and interior designer of passenger and cargo ships, Nob Hill, San Francisco
