Description

FRENCH GILT-BRASS AND CHAMPLEVE CARRIAGE CLOCK, porcelain dial with Arabic chapter ring and polychrome floral garland, marked for retailer "R. Carassale", alarm dial below, blued-steel hands, all within paste stone surround, case of beveled glass panels in brass frame, eight-day time and strike movement. Retains key. Together with another French gilt-brass example with white porcelain dial. Two pieces total. Late 19th/early 20th century. Champleve example 6" HOA (including handle).
Provenance: From a Charlottesville, VA estate.

Condition

Case in good overall condition with scattered minor wear and discoloration, heavier wear to champleve example. Champleve currently running but not timed for accuracy (See Catalogue Guarantee). Other example in unknown working condition.
