A huanghuali coffin box with two locking hasps containing a bolt of multicolored silk brocade. The age and condition of this textile is amazing and the brilliant colors of orange, purple green, red and gold only cause the viewer (and fortunate owner) to wonder as to the lucky recipient’s rank and identity. Two sets of identifying marks are on the bolt’s edge.
Two roundels and their handles are missing from the box.
