Description
The original map was created by Charles Desilver in Philadelphia in 1856. Henry Tanner published his first atlas in 1836, which was later acquired by S. Augustus Mitchell in 1846. Mitchell continued publishing the atlas until 1849, after which the copyright was acquired by Thomas Cowperthwait & Co. in 1850. Finally, the copyright was acquired by Charles Desilver in 1856.
