Jean-Louis DEMARNE (1752/54-1829) ancient ruins, Oil on canvas, not signed, late 18th-early 19th century. Born in Brussels, this student of Gabriel Briard made his career in France and was approved by the academy in 1783. Jean-Louis DEMARNE is particularly renowned for never having signed his paintings. None of the eighty-one paintings in his sale after his death were signed and neither were his Salons. Beautiful collectible oil painting. Size 46x57.
