A Chippendale mahogany chest of drawers, Philadelphia, PA, circa 1770
Provenance
With molded rectangular top, over four graduated long drawers, fluted quarter columns, molded base, on ogee feet.
H: 37 in. W: 44 in. D: 22 ½ in.

Condition
lot 44: the top is one board, and shows signs of wear commensurate with age and use, including some dark scratches and shallow gouges, as well as some overall scattered signs and swaths of surface finish loss and / or staining, also with a patch to back left and right facing corners; top-most and bottom-most drawers with patch to lower edge, and several patches to drawer bead molding and drawer runner faces; right-facing side with old dark gouge / scratch marks, possibly from being pushed against a heat source in the past; glue blocks appear to be ok, but three foot facings showing repaired breaks; brasses are replaced
