Credits: Cover: Al Feldstein. Scripts: Bill Gaines and Al Feldstein. Art: Joe Orlando, Jack Kamen, Al Williamson.Insect Fear: In Joe Orlando's "Revulsion," astronauts are disgusted to find their spaceship infested with roaches. The loathsome pests strip the gyro-control's wires, and the crew is marooned on a planet where – ugh – giant, intelligent roaches are the ruling species. Orlando's art achieves a rare quality of visceral distaste usually reserved for the most extreme horror mags. Another highlight is Al Williamson's "By George!!," an ironic fable in which a future Catholic saint achieves acclaim by lopping off the head of a lost alien child.
"'By George!!' is Williamson's first undeniable home run. The story is playfully ironic, with a grim ending that comes off well thanks to Williamson's sympathetic handling of the alien child. He shows some serious cartooning skills, imbuing emotion and personality within [the alien] character.... 'By George!!' was a big hit with EC fans and sealed Williamson's popularity." – Mark Schultz, "Triumph of a Romanticist," 50 Girls 50 and Other Stories Illustrated by Al Williamson.
