Description
A large antique Japanese, late Meiji Era, enamel over gilt copper censer koro or incense burner. Circa: late 19th century to early 20th century. The sphere form ware is enameled with polychrome images of butterflies and blossoming flowers surrounded by floral, swirl, and foliate scroll patterns made in the Cloisonne technique. The ground is inlaid with Gold stones. The censer is adorned with a technique of using metal powders to give a glitter effect to the enamel. Unmarked. Condition
Overall good vintage condition. Signs of age and wear. There is a spot on the enamel that has some damage. Missing lid. Refer to photos. Sold As Is.
