An antique Judaica spice tower or Besamim box made in America in the early 20th century, crafted in sterling silver with intricate swirling floral openwork designs on the body. The tapered stem base and the flag on top of the spire add to the towers regal appearance. Provenance: from the Isaac Pollak estate. The spice tower serves a unique purpose in Jewish tradition, as it is used during the Havdalah ceremony, which marks the end of the Sabbath and the beginning of the new week.
