Description: 19th-century oil on panel painting by Franz Knebel depicting a landscape view of a passage near Lake Albino, south of Rome. Gorgeous study by the Swiss-born painter, majority of whose works were created in the vicinity of the Great Lakes, Rome, and Tivoli. Probably a thorough investigation or preparation for a longer composition. Excellent provenance with a wax collection mark on the reverse and supporting documentation.displayed with an artists plaque inside a gilded frame. overall clean and in good condition.
