Description: Charles Buchel painted a large oil on canvas portrait of Captain Arthur Capell in 1915, adorned with the family coat of arms. Superb illustration of the artist's style and a beautiful historical piece. Sadly, Capell lost his life in combat the year the image was finished. presented in a gorgeous gold antique frame custom-made for the picture. Dimensions: approximately 25 x 20.5" when framed Redlynch House, Salisbury, Wiltshire is the provenance. In March 1915, during the Battle of Neuve Chapelle, the sitter lost his life in combat.
