First Lieutenant of the Gendarmerie Alfred Weiße – a personal sword for a police commander with etched blade, by Paul Weyersberg & Co., SolingenNickel-plated blade with maker's mark on the ricasso. Both sides with rich floral etchings, the obverse with cartouche "Weiße, Ltn. d. Gend!". Nickel-plated knuckle-bow hilt with bakelite grip, wire wrap and applied police emblem. Steel scabbard lacquered in black with iron fittings. Officer's sword knot. Length 99 cm. Impressive sword. Please see also the next lot regarding an estate of A. Weiße (a survivor of the sinking of SMS Blücher!), providing proper attribution of this sword.Condition: I - II
