Description
Eva Braun - a camel-hair coatTypical light brown, long woollen coat with one button and another concealed button under the collar. The sleeves with turn back cuffs, three decorative buttons on each. Fitted at the waist with two rear pleats, two pockets and a matching belt. Sand-coloured silk lining with a small loop for another concealed button on the inside. A silk label sewn into the back at the neck with the initials "EB" embroidered in different colours. Eva Braun wore a very similar coat during a walking tour at Obersalzberg, illustrated in Johannes Frank, Eva Braun – Ein ungewöhnliches Frauenschicksal in geschichtlich bewegter Zeit, in the plates between pages 160 and 161.Provenance: Commanding Intelligence Officer of the District Greater Salzburg L. Frankenfield, who confiscated over 40 suitcases containing personal items belonging to Eva Braun, her sister Gretl Braun-Fegelein and Hermann Fegelein, near Salzburg in May 1945.Condition: II -
