Bewick (Thomas).- Sportsman's Progress (The): a Poem, descriptive of the Pleasures derived from Field Sports, 12pp., half-title, wood-engraved title-vignette and 12 other vignettes by ?Thomas Bewick, the Schwerdt copy with his circular engraved bookplate, bookplate of Prince Henry, Duke of Gloucester to front free endpaper, some very light offsetting, some spotting, handsomely bound in red morocco by Riviรจre & Son, gilt, spine ends and corners slightly rubbed, original pictorial wrappers bound in (small sticker to verso of upper wrapper, upper corners a touch frayed, soiled and little stained), [Schwerdt II p. 223], for Sherwood, Neely, and Jones, 1820; and an attractively bound copy of "The First of September, or Cockney Sportsmen" with Schwerdt & Duke of Gloucester bookplates, 8vo (2)*** Rare; first published in the second edition of Scott's British Field Sports and probably one of a small number of copies issued separately.
