A vintage brown leather doctor's bag or satchel having two buckle straps and carrying handles with monogrammed letters 'F.X.M.' on the front center of the bag belonging to Dr Crawford Long (American, 1815-1878). He was the first doctor to use sulfuric ether as an anesthetic. Provenance: Crawford Long estate.

Good condition commensurate with age showing signs of wear.
