Extremely rare 2pc box, "Patent Pending" marked, c1915, vivid yellow with green and red printing, includes the Sheridan R. Jones collection stamp on the interior of the lid, stamped with large No. 9S on one end flap, Ex-/Ex. Housing an unfished Six-In-One, finished in white body with light green and red spots, red blush on the chin and nose, and rigged with a unique adjustable diving lip, only found on this early desirable lure. VG+/Ex- condition due only to small factory flaws and the line tie moved up (at the factory), so a small hole underneath. Also included is a Wilson's Wobblers fold out catalog. An important short production box, one of only a scant few known and the only example to be offered at Lang's.

Referred to as "America's pioneering outdoor writer", Sheridan Jones (1881-1958) was certainly one of the most respected and prolific angling writers of his era. Many of the lures offered in this auction, where noted, were personally owned by Jones. Several were given to the esteemed author and outdoor writer for his professional opinion, others as gifts by lure makers vying for his favor. Stated best by author Joseph Hilko in his 2010 book The Life and Legend of Sheridan R. Jones: "Jones' legacy as an educator, naturalist, professional writer and world-class angler is worthy of remembrance today".
