Age is appx. 1940's, could be 1930's. The amethyst is round and appx. 2.3mm wide. Set in an illusions yellow gold setting with prongs and raised design giving it a larger look. The raised setting for the amethyst is appx. 5.5mm square. It is raised over a lower white gold milgrain accents across the top of the finger where there are two appx. 1mm round diamonds set on each side. The ring at this point is appx. 2.3mm wide to 2mm wide at the end of the setting. There is yellow gold under that with a bridged design and an appx. 1.5mm rounded band around the rest of the finger. This is in very good condition, especially for the age. Sweet ring as an engagement ring, birthstone ring but definitely has the look of an engagement ring. Very good condition, only minimal wear.
